Summary:
The Maleszka lab at ANU uses the honey bee as a model for studying the emerging field of epigenetics and in particular, DNA methylation. I completed my Honours thesis with the Maleszka Lab, looking specifically at epigenetic regulation of ribosomal protein genes. I was also employed as a research assistant on a continuation of this work in early 2013. I worked in both wet and dry labs, designing and conducting molecular biology experiments as well as developing python scripts to analyze epigenomic sequencing data.
